Fire Tower Miami History
The Fire Tower Miami history dates back to 1993. It was originally constructed as a memorial to firefighters in Miami, Florida who lost their lives protecting citizens of the community. Metro-Dade Firefighters Local 1403 proudly represents all of Miami-Dade County Firefighters, Paramedics & Dispatchers.
On January 20, 2007, the building was later coined the Dominick F. Barbera Hall after the Local 1403’s President Emeritus. Dominick F. Barbera was Local 1403’s Union President from 1980-1993 and again in 2000-2003. He was the first President Emeritus for Local 1403 elected in 1994. He was also the 12th District Vice President from 1984-2007.

The building is dedicated to Dominick F. Barbera in honor of his years of service to firefighters, working people, and the citizens of Miami-Dade County. He was a leader who fought for the health, safety, and welfare of his fellow firefighters and for the citizens of Miami-Dade County. Dominick was a visionary who helped make a positive change for the fire service, a friend who respected all and brought respect to the firefighting profession.

Fire Tower Miami Architecture
Designed by the famed architectural firm, Arquitectonica, the Fire Tower boasts lakefront views with over 8,000 square feet of event and meeting space.
The ballroom was part of the initial construction with the intent of it being a ‘home away from home’ for all members (firefighters, paramedics & dispatchers) & their families of Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.

We are proud to host special events for our community. We have several annual events that we sponsor, including a Casino Night and Poker Tournament charity event, an annual Super Bowl Watch Party, and an annual Retiree Affair honoring our retired firefighters.
